Guardrail Studio: Test Prompts
Live Testing runs one prompt at a time through a guardrail and shows you the verdict and why. Use it while you write rules. To score a guardrail against a whole set of prompts, use Guardrail Studio: Evaluate & Refine.
Live Testing
- On the Rules card in the Editor, click Quick test. Live Testing opens beside the editor.
- Enter a prompt and click Classify.
The result shows the verdict (PASS or BLOCK), the matched intention, and the reasoning. Open the details to see the Matched Rule and Matched Behavior.
If the guardrail has no rules yet, the result reads NO RULES. Add rules before testing.
You can also test a prompt from the Diagram tab. See Guardrail Studio: Edit a Guardrail.
Request History
Every test is added to Request History below the test box, newest first. Each entry shows the verdict, the guardrail, the prompt and the matched rule. Click an entry to load its prompt again.
- Filter by the current guardrail, All Guardrails, or one guardrail.
- Open shows the full history, with search and passed / blocked / errors counters, and for each request the prompt, the result, the match and the reasoning.
- Export History as JSON downloads
guardrail-history-{date}.json. - Clear history empties it.
Note: Request History holds your last 50 requests, and only in this browser. Export it to keep a copy.
